Bimini Bound

Left Biscayne bay after a night of thunderstorms to find ourselves on a great beam sail. 6.2 Kts. https://svdisorder.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/57883828712__71b1cb67-d2a1-4c3b-abe0-606a21f23987.mov

The gulf crossing was as good as I have ever seen it. A south wind at around 10 knots with waves around 1-2 foot made a beautiful crossing. From Biscayne Bay, Miami to entrance into Bimini channel was around 9 1/2 hours. Averaged about 5 knots most of the way as the winds dropped and switched to a more westerly. We only kicked the motor on the last 4 hours at we didn’t need to arrive too late.

More on channel and the variable shoaling on the next blog post.
