And we wait….

As we left September in the dust and start into October, we look at wonder and pain at the destruction IRMA caused in the keys and most of the Caribbean. The number of boats lost in the keys top 1300, and many more throughout the rest of the Islands.

Many places like soggy dollar bar, don’t exist anymore. Or at least like many remember them…

As the keys start letting visitors back in, the waterways still pose a danger from shoaling, missing bouys and sunken boats. Key West CG still list restrictions for the immediate key west area. We move our departure date back weekly as the recovery still is not complete, we continue to move forward with projects.

Dinghy chaps, stack packs for the sails, some interior trim items. Things we planned for down time in the keys. The dream isn’t dead, it reinforces the fact you can’t live on a schedule. We continue moving forward we weather window reviews, dodging Hurricanes (Irma/Maria/Nate…), sunken boats… only thing lacking is Pirates and Witches. (Damn Halloween is almost here).

So follow our blogs as we continue our journey to start our journey… to SE of Disorder.

  1. Well, it has been nearly a week since you have gone and as we continue to work on Camelot (USCG project now), we wish you were here, but glad you are not. We are thankful for all you and your family has contributed to our Marina and we are indebted. Please stay safe and in touch.

  2. We cannot express our fondness we have for St Pete Municipal Marina. If there is one place that I can honestly say represents a true seashore community it is SPMM. From us to everyone on staff at the marina, we will stay in touch and always follow your dreams. Thank you for years of service you and the staff have provided. We will make sure wherever we wander to recommend the marina there as a true home port to plan for.
